Merry Christmas 2013

We had a great Christmas in the Smith household.  The twins were really excited to see what Santa brought them and I think they were pleased with their gifts.  Elson said his favorite gift was his fire truck and Emily said her favorite gift was her art easel.  They had a lot of fun tearing open all the gifts and spending time with their sweet cousins.

Santa Claus is Coming to Town...

We have visited Santa twice this year.  The first time, Elson completely froze up and Emily screamed her bloody head off.  The second time, Elson was happy to Santa and even told him that he would like a fire truck for Christmas.  Emily, on the other hand, ran away, hid in the corner and screamed for someone to help her.....it was quite dramatic.

Christmas Card 2013

I really loved all the pictures this year from our Fall photo session, which made it difficult to pick a picture for the Christmas card.  After much deliberation, I finally picked a few.  I was a little disappointed in the color of the printed product, but I still love the them and my babies are as cute as ever!

Oh, Christmas Tree...

We've had up our Christmas tree for a while now, but I'm just now getting around to blogging about it.  When we went to get the tree, we instructed the person working that we needed about a 7 or 8 foot tree (they were in these strange stands and it was hard to tell exactly how tall they were).  He pointed us over to a beautiful tree that appeared to be about the size we needed.  However, once we got it home and in our own stand, we quickly discovered it was only about 5 feet tall.  Oh well.....it's our Charlie Brown Christmas tree.

Elf on the Shelf

Santa sent the twins an elf this year that we named Scout.  Although Emily seems a little upset that Santa sent a rat to tell on her, they love seeing where he has landed each morning and if he has left a note behind.  So far, he has arrived in the Christmas tree, napped in the tissue box, left a note for us to leave candy for the mailman, decorated the refrigerator with Christmas bows, and colored in one of Emily's coloring books (with a note that says "I'm watching"....creepy much!!). I think he has a lot of fun things planned for the next few weeks :).  Welcome to the family, Scout!

Thanksgiving 2013

We had a great, relaxing Thanksgiving this year.  We spent the holiday in Leesville with Momie and Pops.  Uncle Mark, Aunt Mel and our cousins joined us on Saturday to celebrate Momie's birthday.  The twins really had a lot of fun being out in the country for a few days.
