Dying Easter Eggs

I know my mother would beg to differ, but I have no memory of ever dying an Easter egg.  I had no idea it could be so messy.  When we showed up at our cousins' house yesterday to dye Easter eggs everyone laughed at our white outfits.  After a quick outfit change, we got down to dying eggs.  The twins had a really good time and managed to keep most of the dye on the eggs.

Holy Thursday

Yesterday, on Holy Thursday, Anna Claire had her first communion.  I normally put them in the nursery at St. Joseph, but Holy Trinity doesn't have a nursery so the entire church was forced to endure the twins.  Both kiddos did pretty well during mass, but only lasted about 45 minutes.  Since we were already dressed up, we decided to go take a picture with the Easter Bunny while we waited for the rest of the family to finish up at mass.  After a disastrous meeting with the Easter Bunny (refer to picture below), we met back up with the family for dinner.  I even let the twins stay up until 9pm.  For those that know me well, that is a big deal!!  All in all it went really well and I was glad that we got to spend some time celebrating Anna Claire's next step in her religious life.

Growing Too Fast

These kiddos are growing too fast.  Pretty soon they won't be able to fit in the same swing anymore.

Ponytails

Emily hates having her hair put up in a ponytail.  We are currently in a ponytail war that I fully intend on winning.  I just think little girls are so cute with their wispy hair up in a high ponytail.  Don't you agree?

St. Patrick's Day 2013

I would love to say that we did something fabulously festive for St.Patrick's Day, but we didn't.  It was, however, a good day spent as a family at Sci-Port.  Normally, the twins and I stick to the toddler area, but with the help of Drew we were able to check out all of the exhibits.  It was nice to venture out and see all that Sci-Port has to offer.

Great-Grandma's House

The twins and I enjoyed a weekend at their Great-Grandma's (my Grandma) house last weekend.  Drew had a bachelor party to attend in Grand Isle, so we rode with him to Baton Rouge, where we switched him out for Grandma.  We went on to New Orleans, where we had a great weekend with some of my family.  My cousin Hannah helped me with the twins all weekend.  She is amazing!!  I wish she would move to Shreveport and help me all the time!  On Saturday, we had beignets, played at the mall, played at the park, took naps, went to my cousin Katie's clothing store Haus 131 in Metairie, then ran around Macy's.  I think everyone was exhausted at the end of the day.  On Sunday, we packed up and then went to church with Great-Grandma.  She goes to a lively church that Emily loved...I think she thought we were at a concert.  Elson fell right asleep and didn't wake up until we left (30 minutes into the service).  We meet up with Drew in Baton Rouge and had lunch before heading back to Shreveport.  It was a long drive, but it was worth it to spend a little time with some sweet family.

ps...I wish I would have taken better/more pictures this weekend, but here is what I have.
