Pumpkin Patch

We finally took our obligatory trip to the pumpkin patch.  The twins were completely unimpressed by the pumpkins.  All they wanted to do was run around (in opposite directions of course) and act like crazy babies.  We stayed just long enough to get a few good pictures.

Duck Dynasty

Last weekend, we were on a Starbucks run when we saw a banner for a Duck Dynasty appearance at the local Cavenders.  For those not in the know, Duck Dynasty is a reality show on A&E about a family of good humored rednecks that made millions selling handmade duck calls.  It is filmed about an hour and half from here.  Drew loves this show, and I have to say that it is pretty entertaining.  Anyways, we decided it would be a fun photo opportunity, so on to Cavenders we went.  I had no idea they were so popular, but the line was too long for us.  So I did what any determined momma would do....I took my babies to the front of the line, squatted down in front of the rope and told Drew to take the picture.  So without further ado, here it is.

From the look on Emily's face, I would say she thinks the beards are gross!

15 Month Checkup

Yesterday was the twins' 15 month checkup.  I can't believe how fast this is going by!!  Both babies (or should I say toddlers!!) have grown a significant amount jumping from the 5th-10th percentile for weight and height to the 25th percentile.  Here are the latest stats:

Weight - 20 lb 5 oz (25%)
Height - 30.5 in (25%)
Head - 18.25 (50%)

Weight - 21 lb 6 oz (25%)
Height - 30.75 in (25%)
Head - 18 in (10%)

Their heads don't seem disproportionate to me, but according to the measurements, Emily's head is really big and Elson's head is really small. Emily is holding a lot of brain power.  I'm not worried about Elson though, because Drew has a small head and happens to be the smartest person I know!!

Thank goodness for Daddy's help on shot day!

Red River Revel

Shreveport has a great art festival called the Red River Revel.  There is a ton of great food, a couple of stages with different types of musical acts, some beautiful art, and a fantastic children's area. Although we are still a little young for most of the childrens' activities, we enjoyed a fun dog show, live music, and yummy food.  Drew even came down to meet us for lunch.  Emily especially loved dancing to the live music and having all of the attention on her.  Elson would run out in front of everyone for a quick second, then get back to me as soon as he could.  She is a ham and he is a tease!

Hi Dad!

This is where Elson hung out most of the time.

All that dancing can really take it out of a girl!

My First Night Away

Last weekend I met a couple of my best friends, Judice and Vanessa, at the Fletcher cabin over in Mississippi.  It was my first night away from the twins, and I think it went pretty well.  To tell you the truth, I don't think they even noticed I was gone.  They were having too much fun hanging out with their Dad.  Drew did a fantastic job, especially considering they were stuck inside due to rainy weather.  I had a great time catching up with two of the best friends a girl could ask for, but I was glad to get home to my hubby and babies!

Our First Emergency Room Visit

At six o'clock last night, Emily was doing her usual dance on the coffee table.  She got so excited that she danced her way right off the end of the table.  This is not the first fall one of the twins has taken, so I didn't think much of it.  I calmly picked her up as she started to suck in air to let out a blood curdling scream, but instead of letting out her scream, she PASSED OUT!!!  It was terrible.  I freaked out and shook her.  She quickly came to, but I was freaking out!!  I called Uncle Mark, who instructed me to take her to the emergency room.  At this point, Drew was pulling up in the driveway.  We quickly loaded up and in less than five minutes we had arrived at the emergency room.  They took her vitals and did a CT scan.  All is fine.  Poor girl got the wind knocked out of her then held her breath too long.  I always thought it would be our daredevil Elson who would go to the ER first, but our Emily girl keeps on surprising us.  Needless to say, there will be no more babies dancing on the coffee table!!!!
