Minivan Momma

We finally did it....we bought a minivan!!!  When Drew and I first found out that we were pregnant, we had a an ultrasound that showed one baby.  Believing we were pregnant with a singleton, we quickly bought a Camry.  Two weeks later, at our next ultrasound, we discovered we were having twins.  I decided to try to make the Camry work because I loved the car so much.  It has been a tight fit to say the least.  Not to mention, it is really difficult to hold two squirming babies while trying to open a car door.  But not anymore - welcome to the world of automatic sliding car doors!!!  It's amazing and I absolutely love it.  I should have done this a year ago.  I am now a proud minivan momma!!!

PS....If you or someone you know is looking for a great car, I'm selling my Camry.

Dancing on Tables

The twins new favorite thing to do is climb on the coffee table and dance!  They use their little chairs to give them a boost up, but they haven't quite figured out the dismount.  When they want to get down, they slowly creep off the side until they fall on their face.  The fall doesn't seem to faze them.  I hope all this dancing on tables isn't a sign of what's to come during their college years!

Teething Twins

We have a couple of serious teethers on our hands.  Emily has four teeth on top and three on bottom, but is getting two molars!!  Elson has three teeth on top and two on bottom, but is getting at least one more on the top.  Needless to say, they have been a little fussier than normal the last few days.  Fussy or not, they are still super cute (in my extremely biased opinion).

Something was funny

Baby Pool Revisited

I decided it was time to try Elson in the baby pool again.  If you remember, last time he cried when I put him in it, but it's been a couple of months and he has gotten a little bit braver with age.  This time I let him decide when he was ready to get in, and he eventually did.  Of course, Emily loved it from the get go.

Hurricane Party

Hurricane Isaac rolled into our neck of the woods last Thursday.  We thought it was going to be more of an event.  It rained, but for the most part, the storm stayed to the east of us.  I had planned for a day with torrential rain and possible power outages.  Neither happened, but the twins and I still enjoyed our little hurricane party.  We started the day with coloring.  I was glad that I bought the non-toxic crayons because all the twins wanted to do was eat them.  After that we moved on to a pipe cleaner and colander game that I found online.  It was fun, but didn't hold their attention very long.  After lunch and afternoon naps I brought out the main event....painting.  Once again, I was glad that I made my own non-toxic, edible paint because they both ate a lot of it.  We ended the day with a much needed bath then milk and graham crackers before bedtime.  All in all, it was a fun day for the twins' first (and surely not last) hurricane party!
