The Week In My Phone

Leaving the Farmers Market

Elson playing in his Pops hat (Can you tell from this picture how much Elson LOVES his Pops!?!)

Emily had to get in on the hat action

Emily already loves jewelry  (I know I shouldn't let her wear a rosary as a necklace, but she doesn't know the difference)

Elson climbing with his buddy Clyde (don't they look alike!)

Emily relaxing with her foot up during dinner

Elson broke into the diaper genie.....GROSS!

Elson's First Haircut

I've been talking about cutting Elson's hair for weeks.  After a hand full of strangers on one particular day commented about my "twin girls," I knew it was time.   I hated to lose those sweet, baby curls, but he looks so much more like a little boy now.  Either way, I think he is adorable!

Hurricanes Emily and Elson Make Landfall

As Hurricane Isaac heads toward South Louisiana, Hurricanes Emily and Elson have already made landfall in the Smith household.  In fact, they roll through everyday leaving a trail of destruction in their path.  Here is a sampling of yesterday's destruction in the family room.

Duck Pond

Last week I took the twins to check out the duck pond.  This is no ordinary duck pond.  Not only are there ducks and geese, there is also a great playground.  The only problem is the lack of shade.  We didn't stay too long out of fear of getting sunburned!  Emily and Elson both enjoyed swinging, going down the slide, and watching the ducks eat the bread crumbs.

I couldn't get Emily to take her eyes off the geese.  Elson was too concerned about the grass needing to be mowed.

Future Republican?

"Here ducky, ducky, ducky"

Very focused on the ducks

Got Milk?

Now that the twins are drinking cow's milk, we go through 5-6 gallons a week.  That's a lot of milk!!  I think it would be cheaper for us to buy a cow!  They don't go anywhere without their sippy cups, and they are very particular about which cups they like.  They prefer a certian brand, size and straw.  Of course, the type of cup they like is not widely available.  Drew and I have had to do quite a bit of searching to gather enough sippy cups for two babies.

Battle Over a Box

Emily and Elson get into some pretty intense physical altercations.  These fights are usually over a toy of some sort.  This morning, it was over who would get to sit in a box.  I think you can see from the pictures below how it progressed.  A few minutes after the battle over a box ended, they were back to playing together nicely like nothing had ever happened.

Our First Skinned Knee

Our little Emily got her first skinned knee.  She was walking on the sidewalk in front of the house and just fell down.  But don't worry, she didn't even cry.  She is tough....just ask her brother!

Fish Tank Fun

Yesterday I was lamenting to Drew how I wish we had an aquarium here.  His reply was "Bass Pro has an aquarium."  Seriously....not exactly the kind of aquarium I was thinking of, but nontheless, we loaded up the kids to go check it out.  For those that know us well, you may recall that Drew and I don't really get along well in stores like Bass Pro.  I usually cry over the dead animals and he is usually embarassed but such an outburst.  In order to keep the peace, I decided to not look at any dead, stuffed animals.  Anyway, the aquarium (or should I say fish tank) was a bust....Elson is terrified of fish!!!  Who would have guessed it?

Poor Elson :(

A Week In My Phone

I take so many pictures with my phone that never make the blog either because they aren't very good quality or more likely because they are random.  Here are a few of my favorites from this week.

Lunch with Dad

Elson helping Momie "drive"

Chilling in our sunglasses

Funny Girl

Sleepy Baby

Watching it rain (a rare event around here)
